Terra Israel (terraisrael.com) is operated by Ran Frenkel. I believe travel and the information that supports it should be accessible to everyone. This site has been designed and built with care for visitors of all abilities, and I am committed to making continued improvements over time.

Standards I Follow

This website has been built in line with the principles of:

• Israeli Standard SI 5568 — the official Israeli web accessibility standard, based on WCAG 2.0 Level AA.
• WCAG 2.0 Level AA — the international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the W3C.

These standards guide how the site is structured, how content is presented, and how interactive elements behave, with the goal of supporting users who rely on assistive technologies.

Measures Taken

To support accessibility on this site, I have taken the following measures:

• Semantic HTML elements throughout, including proper heading hierarchy
• Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images
• Sufficient color contrast between text and backgrounds
• Visible focus indicators for keyboard navigation
• Labels associated with all form fields
• No content that flashes more than three times per second
• Text remains readable when browser text size is increased
• Site is navigable by keyboard alone

Built-in Accessibility Controls

An accessibility menu is available directly in the top navigation bar. It allows you to:

• Adjust text size (up to 200%)
• Adjust line spacing (up to 200%)
• Switch between high-contrast and dark-contrast modes
• Highlight all links on the page
• Pause animations and transitions
• Switch to a more readable font (Arial)
• Enlarge the cursor

Your preferences are saved and applied across the site as you browse.

Assistive Technology

This site is designed to work with common assistive technologies including screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver), keyboard-only navigation, and browser zoom up to 200%.
